The American College of Financial Services And The Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP) Announce A Joint Educational Program
BRYN MAWR, Pa., Sept. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American College of Financial Services today announced that "Techniques and Strategies for Creating a Retirement Income You Can Live With," will be shown in a live video teleconference broadcast from 1:00 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. Eastern Time on November 11, 2015. The program will be available exclusively through local FSP Chapters and is the first of its kind between The American College of Financial Services and FSP in several decades. It is sponsored through a grant from Pacific Life.
The program is based on The College's RICP® (Retirement Income Certified Professional) designation. Moderator Richard M. Weber, MBA, CLU, AEP (Distinguished) and past president of the Society of FSP, will preside over a panel composed of three professors from The College and an FSP member who helped to develop the curriculum and content for the RICP® program. The topic of discussion will be how to create a sustainable retirement income.
Part One of the teleconference features FSP member Curtis Cloke, LUTCF, CLTC presenting an overview of the 3-step process of education, discovery and analytics he uses to talk with clients about what must be considered to assure a sustainable income in retirement. The American College of Financial Services professors Wade Pfau, Ph.D., CFA, David Littell, JD, ChFC, CFP, and Jamie Hopkins, JD, LLM, MBA, CLU® RICP®, will discuss issues of product allocation, data from a recent survey of retirement knowledge, and end-point issues that most people don't like to discuss.
During the remainder of the program, the panel looks at the various income tools used to create a sustainable retirement income. Portfolio investments, retirement plans, reverse mortgages, QLAC and RMDs, executive benefits, life insurance, as well as others, will be considered. A case study will illustrate the practical application of the income tools discussed. A Q&A session follows each program portion.
