The American College of Corporate Directors confers 21 Professional Director Certifications
BOSTON, Oct. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In 2007, the American College of Corporate Directors, the education and credentialing subsidiary of the Boston based Corporate Directors Group, introduced the Professional Director Certification, that now stands as the "Gold Standard", original, most recognized and respected, oldest and most challenging public company director credential.
Twenty one public company director members of the American College of Corporate Directors, earned one of the four levels of director certification at the Washington, DC Director Forum. Included in the awards will be seven Executive Masters Certifications, the highest level conferred.
Public company directors earn this Certification by completing a minimum of 40 and up to 150 hours of director education, mainly taught by professors from some of America's most prestigious business and law schools. The topic of the Washington Forum was, "CyberSecurity and the public company director."
Directors who earn a certification, have it appear in their personal bio and their company's annual proxy, and demonstrates to shareholders and regulators alike that the certification holder has completed THE most rigorous, and extensive program of public company director education available. It is a prestigious credential that shows that the director is not only well trained, but takes the responsibility of public company directorship seriously.
The Professional Director Certification is available ONLY to American College of Corporate Directors members who are also members of the Corporate Directors Group. The organization includes 1700 directors, nearly all representing public companies. Public company directors may join the Corporate Directors Group and enter the Certification process at no charge.
