The Allstate Foundation Donates $50,000 to the American Red Cross 2011 Spring Storm Disaster Relief Fund in Alabama and States in the South
Company also matching employee and Agency owner gifts to top that amount
NORTHBROOK, Ill., May 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Allstate Foundation announced today it is donating $50,000 to help communities across the South recover and rebuild from the devastating tornadoes.
"Our hearts go out to the families and our own customers who have been impacted by the tornadoes that swept across the South," said Vicky Dinges, Allstate vice president for Public Social Responsibility. "Allstate agency owners, claim employees and National Catastrophe Team members are on the scene helping people recover from this disaster. This donation is Allstate's way of helping restore entire communities. It builds on our long-lasting commitment to help people in time of need." The Allstate Foundation will present the $50,000 donation through the American Red Cross 2011 Spring Storm Disaster Relief Fund.
Additionally, for Allstate employees and Agency owners wanting a way to give personally to the cause, the Foundation will match 15 percent of every dollar that Allstaters contribute through the company's annual Giving Campaign.
The Foundation's donation is part of Allstate's annual charitable and philanthropic contributions that totaled more than $18 million in 2010 to communities across the United States.
