BOSTON, Aug. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Alliance for Solar Choice (TASC) supports the passage of today's important solar legislation, H. 4185. As passed, the legislation:
- Extends the state's net metering cap.
- Establishes a Green Ribbon Commission to 1) evaluate a minimum bill to support the distribution system and 2) examine an alternative incentive program to deploy 1600 MW of distributed solar by 2020.
TASC is committed to the framework of this legislation and will participate cooperatively throughout the regulatory process to ensure that it is implemented successfully. While the legislature left important work to state regulators, H. 4185 establishes a framework for common ground. TASC and National Grid articulated this common-ground framework in a co-authored Boston Globe column published in June.
