The 7th Annual Conference on Clean Energy to Host Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Venture Capitalist Matthew Norden, as Keynote Speakers
BOSTON, Oct. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center and the Massachusetts Hydrogen Coalition announced today that Governor Deval Patrick, whose policies and programs have boosted Massachusetts' credentials as a national clean energy leader, will be a keynote speaker at this year's Conference on Clean Energy along with local venture capitalist Matthew Norden. The 7th annual clean-tech event will take place Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at the Westin, Boston Waterfront. This conference will highlight many of the businesses that have played a role in helping Massachusetts become the top Clean Energy State.
This year's event comprises panels that address many of the industry's key issues as well as provide new companies the opportunity to pitch their products and services to investors looking to get involved in Massachusetts' most innovative clean energy concepts. For the first time at the 2011 conference, poster presentations will be added to the exhibit hall. These posters are intended to call attention to new technologies and research that have been undertaken within the state.
"Governor Patrick has been critical in helping Massachusetts become the nation's clean tech leader and event attendees will get to hear directly from him on how he helped make it happen," said Abigail Barrow, founding director of the Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center. "In addition to the governor, our event is bringing together some of the most influential leaders from both the private and public sectors, which will offer unique perspectives about the challenges and opportunities ahead of us as we work to make renewable energy and policy a reality."
The Conference on Clean Energy will open with an address from Matthew Norden, vice president of Venrock, a venture capitalist firm with a focus on clean energy. Following his opening statements, representatives from BP, General Motors, Sun Catalytix, Boston Cleantech and many others will play an integral role on the various panel discussions which will take place throughout the day-long event. This year's speakers will make-up the following panels:
- Project Funding & Policy
- Energy Solutions for Developing Countries
- Cleantech Funding 2.0
- Supplying the Grid
- Waste to Energy
Following the panels and investor pitch sessions, registrants are encouraged to attend the exhibit hall and reception, at which, Richard Sullivan, Secretary, Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs will offer closing remarks.
