NEW YORK, Feb. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Albert Szent-Gyorgyi Prize for Progress in Cancer Research, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of cancer research, will be awarded on Tuesday, March 8 at The Westin New York at Times Square. Media are invited and encouraged to attend.
Named in memory of 1937 Nobel Laureate and NFCR Co-Founder Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, the Prize is awarded annually to a scientist, nominated by his or her peers, who has made outstanding contribution towards the fight against cancer and whose accomplishments have helped improve treatment options for cancer patients. The Prize includes a $25,000 cash award and a medal.
