The 28th Annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon Presented By Equinox Takes Over Zuma Beach
Yearly Competition Hosts Over 5,000 Participants To Benefit Children's Hospital Los Angeles' Pediatric Cancer Research Program
MALIBU, Calif., Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In its 28th year, the Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox returns to Zuma Beach on September 14, 2014 for its highly anticipated annual competition. The Classic Distance race hosts some of the world's finest athletes, philanthropists, celebrities and supporters to benefit Children's Hospital Los Angeles' renowned Pediatric Cancer Research Program. Beginning at 7 a.m., the race will start with a half-mile Pacific Ocean swim, an 18-mile bike ride and end with a four-mile run through Zuma Beach.
Proceeds from the Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox will benefit the Basic and Translational Cancer Research Program of the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Last year's triathlon raised over $1.08 million with the help of celebrity participants including James Marsden, Max Greenfield, Jillian Michaels and Jon Cryer, among many others.

The Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox is comprised of two races including the International Distance Race on Saturday, September 13th, where participants race through a 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run along the sands of Zuma Beach, and the Classic Distance Race on Sunday, September 14th, which involves a half-mile ocean swim, 18 mile bike course and 4 mile run. Event-goers can also participate in the Nautica Kids Run, Tot Trot and enjoy games at the Fun Zone.
