The 2014 D.I.C.E. Summit Adds Five New Speakers To The Lineup
Industry Veterans to Address the Next Leap in Game Development, Distribution and Technology
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) today announced five additional speakers added to the roster for the 2013 D.I.C.E. Summit (#DICE2014), including Keiji Inafune of comcept, Rami Ismail of Vlambeer, Hilmar Veigar Petursson of CCP Games, and Palmer Luckey and Brendan Iribe of Oculus VR. They join the growing list of industry insiders who will address -- or even challenge – this year's conference theme, The New Golden Age. These speakers will address provocative new topics at the conference taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas on Feb. 4 – 6, 2014.
In a special "The Best of D.I.C.E. Europe" session, the Academy is reprising Hilmar Veigar Petursson's celebrated talk entitled "The Human Brain is the Platform – Gaming in the Golden Age." Hilmar will discuss how today's technology advances lead to the ascendance of the mind as the preeminent gaming platform. Attendees will be treated to a revealing examination of how perceptions of reality have changed over time, and how new technology blurs the lines between what we consider real today and what our minds will consider real tomorrow.

- Keiji Inafune, CEO of comcept, previously spent over 25 years at CAPCOM serving as Global Head of Production, Head of Research & Development, and Head of the Online Development Division where he oversaw such blockbuster hit series as Mega Man, Resident Evil, Onimusha, Street Fighter, Lost Planet and Dead Rising.
