Thailand Bridges China's Exhibition Industry
TCEB, Exhibition Department of CCPIT Head Quarter, and CCPIT Yunnan Sub-Council joined force to maximize collaboration and partnership in ASEAN+6 market
KUNMING, China, Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, a government's official flagship body working to promote and enhance cooperation in MICE industry, today announces a strategic cooperation with the key Chinese partners, including China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Head Quarter - Exhibition Department, and CCPIT Yunnan Sub-Council, under the TCEB's ASEAN MICE Collaboration campaign that will help bridge Chinese entrepreneurs to ASEAN and additionally, Great Mekong Sub-region.
TCEB foresees the business scene in Yunnan Province is growing rapidly; especially, in construction and infrastructure, and Greater Mekong Subregion is a golden gateway connecting China to South Asia and Southeast Asia with its diverse geographic landscape and vast areas of potential developments. Hence, the MOU Signing Ceremony among TCEB, Exhibition Department of CCPIT HQ, and CCPIT Yunnan Sub-Council is a proven step to success for regional collaboration in exchange for trade promotion via platform of exhibition in both countries and become a vital role to further bilateral trade and investment.
The MOU Signing Ceremony among TCEB, Exhibition Department of CCPITHQ, and CCPIT Yunnan Sub-Council was held at Empark Hotelin Kunming, China, on January 15, 2015 during 11th China Expo Forum for International Cooperation (CEFCO). The ceremony was witnessed by key stakeholders, federation, associations, and travel agents of MICE China.
Mr. Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, President of TCEB, stated that, "With more than 120,000 Chinese business travellers to Thailand generating 10 billion baht in 2014, the Chinese market is a top priority for TCEB and the government. TCEB and our Chinese industry counterparts, CCPIT are united in our shared goal of developing the MICE industry with mutual understanding through enhanced exchange between Thailand and China. We strive to create long-term competitiveness and sustainability for our service sectors. The long-term strategic partnership endorsed by TCEB with both CCPIT includes improvement and expansion in trade promotion and exhibition industry between both parties, the exchange and review of information through updated trade information and publications, encouragement of business trade missions, international visits of businesspeople, and participation in trade fairs and exhibitions, and enhancement and development of MICE knowledge including the exchange of material and information, sharing of academic research activities. These policies will help contribute toward further development of exhibition industry with a deepened understanding in business and cultural backgrounds of both countries.
