Thai Water 2015 Supporting Industry with World-Class Technology from 25 Countries
BANGKOK, Oct. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mr. Sanchai Noombunnam, Group Director at UBM Asia (Thailand) Co. Ltd, recently noted that Thailand's industrial sector should enjoy continued growth in view of the fact that foreign investors are keen to set up new factories here. Thailand is also set to reap the benefits of the upcoming ASEAN Community -- a market of over 600 million people.

Mr Noombunnam said that in view of this, water demand will rise further, putting greater pressure on the Kingdom which is already facing a water crisis. The country has faced drought, deterioration of major water sources, water pollution, and flooding. Water costs in the country are comparatively high, prompting industrial entrepreneurs to explore solutions that will allow them to manage water more efficiently, cut down on loss, reduce polluting activities, and treat water for reuse. When these solutions are implemented a company's operating costs can be lowered significantly.
In a bid to improve water management, government agencies in Thailand have already started looking into modern technologies. Recognizing the need to use water resources efficiently and with decades of expertise in organising world-class exhibitions, United Business Media (UBM) has decided to host THAI WATER 2015 - Asia's 3rd annual exhibition which will focus exclusively on the latest water and waste water systems and technology. Through collaboration with government agencies and various private organizations, the event will be held from 10 - 13 June 2015 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC) Bangna.
Thai Water 2015 will feature the latest technology and innovations relating to water and will build on the success of Asia Water. Held in Kuala Lumpur, Asia Water has arguably been the region's biggest water-technology event. The upcoming Thai Water 2015 show will seek to further raise industrial entrepreneurs' and government agency awareness of technologies that can increase water management efficiency and ensure the most effective use of the precious commodity.
Today, factories are already aware of the environmental impact of their operations and are striving to be more climate friendly. Most have addressed water and wastewater management which allows them to lower operating costs while enjoying continued business expansion and sustainable environmental development.
"Thailand's industrial sector has always been growing," said Mr Noombunnam. "But as more organisations have seen trade opportunities in the ASEAN region we are faced with new challenges especially regarding water. As a result, more foreigners are setting up manufacturing bases in the Kingdom and how we use water is becoming more and more important.
By organising Thai Water 2015, our goal is to increase water management efficiency in both industrial and household sectors. We will offer a comprehensive range of technologies that provide answers to intelligent water management across the board," said Mr Noombunnam.
Thai Water 2015 exhibitors will be arriving from 25 countries and will showcase water management technology from 1,500 leading brands. The event will also include special pavilions from Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and Germany in addition to other countries. This year the event will run simultaneously with Pumps & Valves Asia and key academic seminars will be held at the event.
Currently it is estimated that Thailand's water consumption will grow by seven percent by 2016. This means that water costs will rise to 1,225 million US dollars per year - up from 816.9 million. The biggest water consumers from the industrial sector are the food, agricultural, petro-chemical, electronics and building/construction industries. The country's budget for water source development has also grown significantly. It is expected that 35 percent of Thai Water visitors will be from government, with the rest coming from the private sector.
