Texas Student Athlete Zoe Alaniz Named Sixth National Finalist For Wendy's High School Heisman Award

SAN ANTONIO, Nov. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Of the 48,000 students who applied for this year's award, local high school senior Zoe Alaniz of W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas was the sixth to be honored with a surprise announcement at her high school that she was chosen as one of twelve national finalists for the 2012 Wendy's High School Heisman Award. The award honors exceptional students who bring excellence in academics, athletics and community service.

The twelve national finalists will travel to New York City where two national winners – one male, one female – will be chosen and each will receive a crystal Wendy's High School Heisman trophy; $10,000 donation to their respective high schools; and recognition during the collegiate Heisman ceremony in New York City on Saturday, December 8, 2012.
