Texas State Library and Archives Commission Selects Career Development Online Resources from LearningExpress for TexShare Database Program
NEW YORK, Jan. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LearningExpress, LLC announces that it has been chosen as the provider of online career development content for the TexShare Database Program administered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). LearningExpress Library(TM) and LearningExpress Job & Career Accelerator(TM) are now included in TexShare as part of vocational education preparation course study materials, education tutorials, and job search and career preparation resources for Texas residents.
TexShare is a consortium of Texas public and academic libraries joining together to share print and electronic materials, purchase online resources, and combine staff expertise. Millions of Texans now have "anytime, anywhere, online access" to a comprehensive selection of career-oriented and academic resources to help with job preparation, career advancement, career changes, and re-entry to the workforce through LearningExpress platforms.
TexShare is available through public and state governmental agency libraries, community and four-year colleges, as well as the TexShare affiliate membership program. TSLAC selected LearningExpress from among competing organizations to provide its TexShare Database Program with an online platform for career development. To learn more about these resources, Texas library users should ask their local libraries for TexShare database access and login instructions; these differ library by library.
The online tools from LearningExpress include more than 1,000 tutorials, practice tests and exercises, eBooks, and computer skills tutorials. The interactive tutorials help learners, of any age and experience level, develop the skills necessary for success in the workplace, school, and everyday life.
Edward Seidenberg, TSLAC's Interim State Librarian, stated, "Everyone involved in the selection process is very excited about being able to offer LearningExpress Library as well as Job & Career Accelerator through TexShare. We believe this will help students, job seekers, and others connect to educational and career development tools that could make a difference in their lives." Formed in 1909, TSLAC is committed to giving Texans access to information and programs they can use to improve their lives and communities. For more information, visit www.tsl.state.tx.us.
