DALLAS, June 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas's premiere college-prep magnet online school will be honoring graduating seniors at its graduation ceremony on June 9.
Texas Online Preparatory School (TOPS), a tuition-free, online public school serving students in grades 3-12 is K12's newest partner school in Texas. As a college-prep magnet school authorized by Huntsville Independent School District, TOPS offers an academically rigorous program geared towards college-bound, self-motivated students seeking challenging courses, collaborative instruction and high academic expectations.
This year's graduating class includes 37 students from across the state. They will be addressed by Jeff Kwitowski, the senior vice president of public affairs and policy for K12. A nationally-recognized school choice advocate, Jeff is passionate about school reform and innovation. Prior to working at K12, he served as communications director for former United States Secretary of Education William Bennett.

TOPS students are high achieving and seek an academically challenging curriculum that prepares them for college. Students also have the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.
This year's graduating class will attend a huge range of prestigious colleges and universities that include Baylor University, Texas A&M, the University of Texas and the US Air Force. Together they have received over $250,000 in scholarships to ensure that they are successful throughout their futures.
"I enrolled in TOPS so that I would receive an education that worked for me," said TOPS Valedictorian Jazmyne Garza. "The diverse classes and ability to take Advance Placement and dual enrollment courses meant that I could get a head start on my college education. I know that I will be successful because of what I learned at TOPS."
Jazmyne received a scholarship from the Air Force Academy to attend an affiliated prep school this coming school year. She will attend the Air Force Academy beginning in fall of 2017, and will graduate in 2020 as an officer. Class salutatorian, Elizabeth Naylor will attend Ouachita Baptist University and major in Dietetics and Nutrition.
Celebrating with the students at the event will be TOPS teachers and staff as well as students' families. All three play an integral part in the students' education, providing both personal and academic support to ensure that each student is prepared for their future.
