Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst Appoints G. Brint Ryan to the Select Committee on Economic Development

DALLAS, Feb. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ryan, a leading global tax services firm with the largest indirect tax practice in North America, today announced that Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst appointed Ryan CEO and Managing Principal G. Brint Ryan to the Select Committee on Economic Development ("Committee").

The purpose of the Committee is to recommend a state economic development policy to the Texas Legislature. The mission is to conduct a study to make recommendations regarding state and local economic development incentives, develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of existing policies and incentives, evaluate existing incentives, and then make recommendations regarding their continuation, elimination, or modification. The Committee is required to submit a report not later than January 1, 2013 for consideration by the 83rd Legislature.
