Texas jury awards $9.25 million in patent case against Murphy USA.

PALO ALTO, Calif., July 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A Texas jury awarded Banys, P.C.'s trial team, led by Christopher Banys, along with Wesley Hill of Ward, Smith & Hill, PLLC, $9.25 million in damages in a patent-infringement case against fuel retailer Murphy USA in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The jury found that Murphy infringed four claims of the automated synchronous pricing and advertising system patents in question, and that all four claims were valid.

The plaintiffs, Brian Freeny, James Freeny, and Charles Freeny III, are the sons of noted Dallas-area inventor Charles Freeny, Jr.  "I am very proud to obtain this victory for the Freeny Brothers," Says firm founder Christopher Banys.  "Charles Freeny, Jr. was a true American inventor and it is wonderful to see his legacy vindicated."
