Texas Institute for Surgery President Named Fellow in American College of Healthcare Executives
DALLAS, Oct. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- David Helfer, president of Texas Institute for Surgery at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas, has been named to Fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 35,000 health care executives.

According to the American College of Healthcare Executives, obtaining the FACHE credential requires fulfillment of multiple requirements. Candidates must pass the Board of Governors Examination in Healthcare Management, and have at least five years of healthcare management experience. Fellows must also be active in healthcare related and general community/civic activities.
Helfer was named TIS president in July 2011. His background includes nearly 30 years of clinical, operational, managerial and executive level consulting experience in health care.
