Texas Health Southlake Places in Top 3 on Best Companies to Work for in Texas 2010 List

DALLAS, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Health Southlake placed third out of 85 award recipients on the Best Companies to Work for in Texas 2010 list (medium-sized companies), which is sponsored by TEXAS MONTHLY, the Texas Association of Business, the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group.  The survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Texas, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.

"Just making the list with so many other wonderful companies was an honor in itself, but ranking in the top three is truly something special," said Traci Bernard, president of Texas Health Southlake.  "We appreciate the recognition we have received for our efforts to make our hospital a great workplace, and hope that this award will help in our efforts to recruit even more outstanding employees."

To be considered for participation, companies had to meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Have at least 15 employees working in Texas;
• Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
• Be a publicly or privately held business;
• Have a facility in the state of Texas; and
• Must be in business a minimum of 1 year.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part evaluation process.  The first part, worth 25% of the total score, consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. The second part, worth 75% of the evaluation, consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.  The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
