DALLAS, Sept. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas de Brazil Churrascarias nationwide partner with The Red Cross for a new fundraising initiative to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Beginning September 11 and through September 30, one dollar for every dessert sold at the 44 domestic locations will be donated to the American Red Cross, with a minimum donation of $25,000 guaranteed by the family-owned restaurant group.
"The cleanup and rebuilding efforts by every community affected by both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma will need incredible support for months to come," says Salim Asrawi, COO of the Brazilian-American steakhouse brand. "We are proud to support The Red Cross as it seeks to provide the American people with shelter, food, comfort and emergency support in this time of crisis," he adds.
Texas de Brazil's community support campaigns began with a Labor Day weekend initiative at locations in Sugar Land's First Colony Mall and Houston's CityCentre, where $10,000 was raised with the assistance of guests for the Houston Food Bank.
The American Red Cross provides 24/7 global emergency communication services and support across the country and around the world so people can have clean water, safe shelter and hot meals when they need them most. At the Houston Food Bank, every dollar donated feeds the equivalent of three meals for an individual.
"We believe in the compassionate care and support provided by The Red Cross and other nonprofits, and along with the generosity shown by our guests we can together support their worthwhile missions," says Asrawi.
