DALLAS, Feb. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Capital Bank announced today the opening of a banking center in Trinity Groves, the first of its kind in that West Dallas neighborhood, offering not only full-service banking services but also providing a community meeting place, free financial literacy courses and other community development programs.
Mayor Mike Rawlings and City Council member Omar Narvaez joined Texas Capital Bank CEO Keith Cargill and other bank executives, local officials and dignitaries at the opening ceremony at the center at 340 Singleton Blvd.
The new banking center is Texas Capital Bank's latest action in supporting a West Dallas neighborhood that for decades was overlooked and underserved.
Trinity Groves sprang from a project Texas Capital Bank helped fund in 2012, turning an abandoned warehouse site into a restaurant incubator. Now, Trinity Groves has blossomed into a popular attraction with 14 diverse restaurants, part of a resurgence there of new and converted buildings, businesses and residential developments.
"Our purpose is to power prosperity in business and in life, and helping communities grow is an important part of that commitment," Cargill said. "Trinity Groves' success and the opportunities it spurred are prime examples of why we exist. Now, we're able to go one step further by opening a banking center for our business partners and community members."
"From the modern, airy design of the banking center to the varied services it will provide, this is truly a unique location for Texas Capital Bank," Cargill said.
The Singleton Boulevard banking center began operations Jan. 8, a convenient site for Trinity Groves restaurant owners as well as local residents.
Rawlings saluted Texas Capital Bank for being a trusted partner with the city of Dallas. "From being the first bank to commit to supporting the GrowSouth initiative with its $3 million commitment to today's opening of the first bank in this West Dallas neighborhood, Texas Capital Bank continues to demonstrate its community support," Rawlings said.
"West Dallas is growing and helping to fuel related development that, thanks to Texas Capital Bank, will continue to drive an increasingly prosperous Dallas," Rawlings said.
Featuring a variety of personal banking services and 24-hour ATM access, the West Dallas banking center also will serve as a community hub for the neighborhood.
It will serve as a meeting place for outside groups, and will offer free financial literacy courses, including creating a budget, understanding basic banking, using credit cards wisely, mortgages and related topics to help break the cycle of poverty. Some of the center's other services also will be customized to assist low- and moderate-income residents.
"Through this banking center, we'll be able to serve not only our Trinity Groves business customers but also the neighborhood," said Brandon Jones, the banking center manager. "With a focus on financial literacy, my hope is to educate our neighbors and community partners before offering banking solutions. Financial education is key."
To reflect and serve the diverse community, half of its employees are fluent in English and Spanish, he said.
Also today, Texas Capital Bank issued its annual corporate social responsibility report. Through its community reinvestment program, the bank has supported a comprehensive list of charitable nonprofits through corporate philanthropy and volunteerism.
