- World-leading British Software Developer Wins Highest Innovation Accolade
TestPlant, the maker of the eggPlant range of software quality tools, today announced it has won a third Queen's Award for Enterprise, this year in the sought-after Innovation category. The award recognises the company's outstanding commercial achievements as a result of its innovation.
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's highest accolade for business success and are presented by Her Majesty The Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister. Traditionally announced on the date of The Queen's birthday, this year has a special tone as Her Majesty celebrates her 90th birthday.
TestPlant is widely recognised for its business and technical achievements. The company develops software to automate the testing of systems used in a wide range of business and mission-critical applications, from mobile banking to air traffic control. Its customers include global brands such as Nationwide, NTT, Boeing, Walmart and Bloomberg. The company is based in London with extensive operations in the USA and sales offices in Berlin, Tokyo and Shanghai.
TestPlant has enjoyed rapid growth since its formation in 2008. Mobile use and digital services demand improved quality control, which the eggPlant range delivers through the automation of test processes. The company has developed a unique and innovative approach to test automation and its eggPlant technology is patented in the USA, the UK and in Europe. TestPlant received investment from The Carlyle Group in January 2016 to support the international scale-up of the business.
"Third time - and a very special thrill for everyone at TestPlant in a very special year," said George Mackintosh, TestPlant CEO. "We are honoured to have won the innovation award on The Queen's 90th birthday. Our engineers and sales people have taken invention to commercial achievement and we're proud that eggPlant tools are helping our customers succeed by achieving higher levels of software quality and productivity."
In an initiative to share its unique technology more widely, TestPlant is preparing to launch "eggPlant for eggHeads", which will provide free extended use of eggPlant Functional to the UK's computer science academic community. Students and tenured academics will be eligible to register for free use of the tool.
"Let's establish the UK as the world's most productive developer of software!" enthused George Mackintosh.
Winners of The Queen's Awards can expect an invitation to attend a special reception at Buckingham Palace. Winners can use The Queen's Award Emblem in advertising, marketing and on packaging for a period of five years as a symbol of their quality and success.
