ST. LOUIS and WASHINGTON, Oct. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Sunday, November 2, the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) and Answers.com will launch the first-ever "Quiz-a-thon Marathon" focused on midterm election issues in the United States.
From 9:00AM on November 2 to 9:00AM on November 3, quiz-takers can test their political smarts on key issues such as tax reform, campaign finance, income inequality, climate change, gun rights, education, and Obamacare. The marathon round of the "Answers Quiz-a-thon: Election Edition, powered by BPC" will be posted on Answers.com.
Each person who takes a quiz and shares it on Facebook will get an opportunity to win one of five iPad Airs. The more quizzes people take during the marathon period, the more entries they get in the drawing. On November 3, Answers will pick a grand prize winner who will receive a VIP trip for two to Washington, DC.
This marathon competition is the finale of the BPC and Answers' national daily quiz-a-thon, which launched two weeks ago to help engage and educate the American public on the top policy issues of the 2014 midterm elections.
"These quizzes are designed to be a super-condensed and fun way for quiz-takers to learn more about each issue," said BPC President Jason Grumet. "The marathon round is a 'Cram Session' for voters before Election Day. Don't miss the chance to expand your political knowledge, win an iPad Air and a trip to Washington, DC."
The unique quiz-a-thon series has been hosted by a star-studded political and entertainment line-up such as Noah Wyle, Judith Light, former Senate Majority Leader of the House Newt Gingrich, former Senator Olympia Snowe, former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, Fran Drescher, "Science Guy" Bill Nye, and many other notables.
"We're so gratified by the tremendous support we've received for the quiz series thus far, from our celebrity quiz hosts to the leagues of quiz-takers on Answers.com," said David Karandish, CEO of Answers Corporation. "In this final push on November 4, I urge Americans to arm themselves with knowledge that can make a difference - cram for the midterms by participating in the Quiz-a-thon Marathon."
Winners of the daily quiz-a-thon series have come from all walks of life and locations: Andrew Wykle, shoe salesman in Roanoke, Virginia; Jack Gin, 13-year-old student in Singapore; Kevin Kuo, 16-year-old student in San Jose, California; Penny Krogstrand, part-time substitute teacher in Aberdeen, South Dakota; and Joyce Parker, former medical office manager in Winnsboro, Louisiana.
"Woo hoo! I have never won anything in my life," said Joyce Parker. "And I sure never thought if I did, it would have anything to do with politics!"
