Teseq's New Dual Voltage Supply Source Offers Two Power Sources in One Unit
New supply source sets test voltage, generates variable voltage
EDISON, N.J., March 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Teseq Inc., a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and systems for EMC emissions and immunity testing, has released the VAR 3005, a dual voltage supply source controlled by Teseq's NSG 3000 series of EMC test generators. This new supply source not only regulates test voltage, but also generates the reduced voltage for dips and drops testing of EUTs (Equipment Under Test).

The VAR 3005, controlled using either the NSG 3000's front panel display or the WIN 3000 PC software, has internal advanced microprocessor based electronics. This unit features advanced self-regulation and has several self-test features including self-check, AC power volt check and phase rotation check, as well as the ability to either inform users or stop a test if the test conditions are not correct.
With electrical performance parameters in compliance with IEC 61000-4-11:2004, the VAR 3005, together with NSG 3040 or NSG 3060 generators, generates mains dips, drops and variation tests for equipment with a current rating below 16 A. The EUT supply input voltage range is from 10 to 240 VAC, while the output voltage is adjustable from 0 to 265 VAC.
Based on plug and play technology, the VAR 3005 auto-configures tests for the user in order to prevent user errors like setting voltages out of range. The unit also has the ability to automatically turn off the EUT in the event of a power overload.
Depending on an end user's application needs, the VAR 3005 is also available in a single source model where dual source is not required.
