Tesco Applies Work-based Learning to Drive Transformation
BOSTON and LONDON, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Emergn, a professional services firm, today announced their collaboration with Tesco PLC as their global agile transformation partner. The collaboration is based on adopting Emergn's learning program, Value, Flow, Quality® (VFQ) coupled with the Agile Practitioner Certification from BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, to help Tesco's technology and business teams transform the ways of working for thousands of Tesco employees.
"The use of technology can really help us improve the experience customers have with us. Our ways of working are fundamental to achieving this, so we're delighted to partner with Emergn to use their VFQ work-based education approach," said Atul Bhardwaj, CTO Technology Products at Tesco PLC.
"The reality is that enterprises need their own internal capability to drive successful and sustainable transformations. This translates into giving people the tools they need to improve their skills and capability that will ensure the changes stick and that they can continuously improve," said Alex Adamopoulos, Chief Executive Officer of Emergn.
ABOUT EMERGN AND VFQ
Emergn Limited work with many of the world's leading companies, solving the business problems in IT and the IT problems in business. Every organization is different, every problem unique, so we work alongside our clients to deliver bespoke solutions. To do that, we blend Agile and Lean principles in consulting, delivery and education. With these three services, we believe we can best help organizations transform their own, and their people's, capabilities.
VFQ is a comprehensive work-based education and learning program. VFQ is researched from hundreds of books and articles from the fields of Agile, Lean, design thinking, systems thinking, management, software, manufacturing and many other disciplines. It provides a condensed view and critique that considers the latest thinking and also traditional views on many topics.
Our philosophy is based on the idea that different people learn in different ways, and that the most impactful learning happens when people understand things and then get to apply those concepts directly in their own work. VFQ has been chosen by the British Computer Society (BCS) to underpin their Agile Practitioner Certification.
