Terry Lister to Serve as 2012 Chair of CFP Board's Public Policy Council
WASHINGTON, Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Experienced regulatory and compliance counsel, Terry L. Lister has been appointed as Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. new Chair of its Public Policy Council. The Public Policy Council serves an advisory role on public policy issues affecting CFP Board, CFP® professionals and members of the public.
"Terry's leadership will advance CFP Board's policy initiatives and help us to continue to our proactive efforts to protect consumers and advance the public interest," said CFP Board's Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Keller, CAE.
Lister is Senior Vice President and Chief Regulatory Officer with Waddell & Reed, Inc. Previously, he served as General Counsel and Director of Government Affairs with the Financial Services Institute and as General Counsel and Director of Compliance with Cambridge Investment Research. Lister also represented clients in various Securities and Exchange Commission, self-regulatory organization (SRO), state enforcement and civil actions. He served on the CFP Board's Board of Directors from 2008 to 2011.

Lister graduated in 1970 from the University of Missouri Columbia with a B.S. in Public Administration, and he obtained his J.D. from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 1977.
