Terry Bryant Teams Up With Katy ISD Students To Help Houston Flood Victims

HOUSTON, April 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- This week's historic rainfall has left many Houston residents scrambling from their flooded homes. The affected area has been so widespread that relief agencies are stretched thin, and charity organizations are overwhelmed with requests for the most basic of needs, including food, water, and something as simple as dry socks. Houston Attorney Terry Bryant's employees along with some Katy ISD students spent Thursday afternoon delivering supplies to the Katy Christian Ministries.

"We made some phone calls and found that Katy Christian Ministries is located in one of the hardest hit areas and were not able to keep up with the requests for assistance," Bryant said. "We got a list of the most needed items and brought them several truckloads of those items to help," he continued.

The law office was also able to get the help of some Katy ISD seniors to help volunteer with the distribution of the supplies. "Houston is a great city with a great sense of community," said Bryant, adding, "We were very happy to make life a little easier for folks while they try to clean up their homes."

The Houston suburb of Katy was particularly hard hit by Monday and Tuesday's storms, receiving over 16 inches of rain in less than a 24-hour period.
