"Terrorism: An Electronic Journal & Knowledge Base" September 2013 issue now available online

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Launched again in its current form in August 2012, the online journal provides continuity to earlier studies on the "Age of Terrorism" and closes research gaps in growing literature on the many aspects of the subject. Found at www.terrorismelectronicjournal.org, the journal focuses on identifying warning signals on conventional and unconventional terrorism in the post-9/11 era and recommends national, regional, and global strategies to confront potential challenges to all societies.

These and related global topics were discussed at seminars and conferences organized by the Inter-University Center for Terrorism Studies from January to September 2013, (co-sponsored by the International Center for Terrorism Studies at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies and the Inter-University Center for Legal Studies at the International Law Institute). Some presentations delivered at the academic gatherings are offered in this issue; a list of those is at the Potomac Institute website. The IUCTS will publish hard copy expanded versions of the presentations.

The September 2013 issue also includes "After NATO's Libya Intervention: Any Implications for International Law?" by Colonel Ugur Gungor of NATO's Centre for Excellence—Defence Against Terrorism in Ankara, Turkey.

A special report on "Terrorism in North Africa and the Sahel in 2012: Global Reach and Implications" and a new study on "Canada and Terrorism: Selected Perpetrators" are in this issue.

The journal was developed in 1998 as an on-line follow-up to "Terrorism: An International Journal" published in 1977 by Crane, Russak and subsequently by Taylor and Francis. Yonah Alexander, Professor and Director, State University of New York's Institute for Studies in International Terrorism, founded these publications and served as Editor-in-Chief.

Mike S. Swetnam, Potomac Institute for Policy Studies CEO is the Senior Advisor; Prof. Yonah Alexander, Director, Inter University for Terrorism Studies is Editor-in-Chief; and Prof. Don Wallace, Jr. Chairman, International Law Institute, is the Academic Advisor.
