Payne to Serve as Key Management Leader for Small Business Mentoring Organization

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" announces the national appointment of Terrence (Terry) Payne as the district director for Southern California. Payne, a volunteer leader based in Los Angeles will lead and support local SCORE offices in providing small business mentoring and training to entrepreneurs across the Southern California area.

Payne joined Los Angeles' SCORE in 2009 as a volunteer and became Director of Expansion and Outreach before being named District Director. Payne has extensive experience in marketing, management and business development. Payne is a certified Small Business Administration SBE/8(a) firm advisor and has received numerous awards of accomplishments including the Living History Makers Science & Technology Achievement Award from the Turning Point Foundation. He serves on several non profit boards including the President of the Board of Directors for the Friends Housing, Incorporated, Board Member of the West Angeles Community Development Corporation and Board Member of the Mini 12-Step House.

SCORE's Southern California district includes 4 chapters that reach 19,283 entrepreneurs annually through face-to-face and online counseling and a series of business workshops. The district's 202 volunteers have an average of 40 years of business knowledge, with a wide range of expertise.
