Terra Environmental Technologies is Newest Member of Diesel Technology Forum
WASHINGTON, April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Diesel Technology Forum (DTF) is pleased to announce that Terra Environmental Technologies (TET) is the newest member to join the Forum. DTF is a non-profit organization that promotes the use of the newest clean diesel technologies in the United States.
"We are extremely pleased to welcome Terra Environmental Technologies as a partner in the Forum's national effort to promote the newest and most efficient clean diesel technologies," said Allen Schaeffer, the Executive Director of DTF.
"With its popular clean diesel exhaust fluid that significantly reduces nitrogen oxide emissions, TET is a prime example of how companies are working to improve the environment and efficiency of diesel engines through clean diesel technologies."
"We are pleased to be part of the Diesel Technology Forum and look forward to working with the Forum and its membership to educate and to promote the economic, environmental and energy conservation benefits being realized through advanced diesel engine designs," said Barry Lonsdale, President of Terra Environmental Technologies.
TET and its strategic partners manufacture and deliver ultrapure, aldehyde-free Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), exceeding AUS 32 and ISO 22241 specifications, to help reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel engines with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). SCR is one of the latest technologies designed to further reduce emissions of NOx and to meet the U.S.'s new air quality regulations.
"SCR technology is one of the most cost-effective and fuel-efficient technologies available to help reduce emissions," Schaeffer said. "SCR can reduce NOx emissions up to 90 percent while simultaneously reducing HC and CO emissions by 50-90 percent, and PM emissions by 30-50 percent."
CF Industries, Terra's parent company, is the leading urea producer in North America and has the broadest production in North America from multiple plants that are strategically located to produce and supply DEF.
