LAKE BLUFF, Ill., Aug. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Terlato Wines today announced a long-term partnership to import the wines of Feudi San Gregorio, the winery that put Campania on the map. Feudi San Gregorio wines have earned more than 220 90+ reviews and 25 Tre Bicchieri awards from Gambero Rosso, the foremost authority on Italian wines over the years.
"This is an ideal partnership for many reasons," said William A. Terlato, CEO of Terlato Wines. "Quality has always come first for us, and Feudi San Gregorio has set the bar extremely high on quality. Secondly, there is great synergy with owner Antonio Capaldo and CEO Pierpaolo Sirch. We are pleased to add Feudi San Gregorio's Campania wines to our exceptional portfolio of Italian wines."
Terlato Wines will import eight estate wines from Feudi San Gregorio including two Taurasi wines and two Aglianico wines, plus Falanghina, Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and a rosé of Aglianico. All feature distinctive, contemporary labels designed by artist Massimo Vignelli.
"We are excited about working with Terlato to grow our brand in the U.S.," said Feudi San Gregorio COO Pierpaolo Sirch. "Terlato is known for the quality of its portfolio, and we're proud to be a part of it. Since the beginning, we wanted to prove that indigenous wines from Campania can be as beautiful, balanced and expressive as any wine in the world. With Terlato, we're excited to bring Feudi San Gregorio to a larger audience in America."
Feudi San Gregorio was founded in 1986 in the village of Sorbo Serpico, in the Avellino province of Campania, after an earthquake devastated much of the region. For Avellino native Enzo Ercolino, it triggered a calling, to establish a wine estate that could help restore the area to its former greatness. He and his family established Feudi San Gregorio with a vision to create exceptional, modern wines from indigenous Campania grapes that would become the global standard bearer for the region.
Today, the winery is owned by the Capaldo family, with Antonio Capaldo at the helm. The winery welcomes visitors with a tasting room, a Michelin-starred restaurant, Marenna, led by Chef Paolo Barrale, and a luxury guest house. www.feudi.it
