Teradata Strives for Major Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions

DAYTON, Ohio, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC) announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Climate Leaders program has officially approved Teradata's aggressive five-year goal to reduce its worldwide greenhouse gas emissions by 45 percent.

The greenhouse gas emissions intensity calculation is based on facility energy usage and the number of Teradata Purpose-Built Platforms shipped per year. The emissions reduction commitment started in 2008.

Teradata joined the Environmental Protection Agency Climate Leaders program in 2008 to manage emissions risks from operations and to identify cost-effective mitigation opportunities. The Environmental Protection Agency works closely with every company in its Climate Leaders program to review their greenhouse gas emitting inventory and provide guidance in setting an aggressive emissions reduction goal.
