SAP BusinessObjects Trade Promotion Effectiveness Analysis "SAP has produced an improved analytic reporting application that will help customers analyze and present their rich trade funds transactions. By isolating on brand/package investments at a lower detail level, it will improve their ability to identify and take action on trade fund discrepancies and opportunities." SAP BusinessObjects On-Shelf Availability Analysis "Integrating these previously disconnected projects is the key to unlocking higher value. Historically, downstream data projects have focused on delivering point-of-sale based reporting for individual retailers. Now, consumer products companies will be able to see and respond to the demand signals from all of their retailers together and to measure results and improvements immediately, and over time." |
|
Keith Costello, executive vice president, Business Analytic Solutions, SAP |
"Companies that leverage massive amounts of information with solutions from Teradata will realize the benefits of running SAP BusinessObjects analytic applications optimized on the Teradata platform. Teradata's ability to handle enormous amounts of data will further help customers achieve business success through the use of these new SAP applications. |

These initial industry-specific applications fulfill customers' high-volume and high-performance needs and provide breakthrough capability in communications, consumer products, financial services, healthcare, public sector and defense, and retail management. When delivered on the Teradata platform, these applications can handle larger data volumes, providing the power to manage meaningful, detailed high-volume data that is critical to rapid decision analytics.
In consumer products, two applications optimized to run on the Teradata platform address tough challenges involving large-scale data. They are the SAP BusinessObjects Trade Promotion Effectiveness Analysis and SAP BusinessObjects On-Shelf Availability Analysis applications.
SAP BusinessObjects Trade Promotion Effectiveness Analysis leapfrogs the capability of point solutions to deliver rapid and sustained return on investment based on eliminating wasteful spending practices. The new application is used to create trade spending budgets and so-called checkbook functions to maintain promotions and manage ledgers. Post-event performance data can include external syndicated data or retailer point-of-sale (POS) data. Through the optimization, the application can handle larger data volumes for scalable performance.
SAP BusinessObjects On-Shelf Availability Analysis combines the demand-driven capabilities of business partners Teradata and Vision Chain to bring multi-retailer POS information into a Teradata Data Warehouse platform, where it can be analyzed. By combining external product demand signals from multiple retailers and internal demand information, consumer products companies cut their out-of-stock rates by 30 to 50 percent and lower their inventories by as much as 10 percent. Improved on-shelf availability can lead to an increased profit margin through more efficient sell-through and replenishment linked to accurate demand signals.
Other SAP BusinessObjects analytic applications available to run on the Teradata Platform Family include:
- SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Risk Reporting for Banking
- SAP BusinessObjects Quality Management for Healthcare
- SAP BusinessObjects Sales Analysis for Retail
- SAP BusinessObjects Customer Analysis and Retention for Telecommunications
- SAP BusinessObjects Readiness Assessment for Defense and Security
