Teradata Earns Recycling Award for Continued Sustainability Leadership
Practices conserve resources, contributes to the profitability
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), recognized for its global and domestic sustainability initiatives, today announced that it is a winner in the California 2010 CalRecycle Waste Reduction Award Program (WRAP) for incorporating waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and buying recycled into its daily business activities. The recycling program at Teradata's facility in San Diego has reduced the amount of material entering the landfill by more than 2,729 tons since its inception in 1994.

The WRAP awards, sponsored by the California Integrated Waste Management Board, were initiated in 1993 to recognize California organizations that are making outstanding efforts to reduce non-hazardous waste. The range of environmentally sound business practices that were included in the evaluation include: innovative reuse and recycling; resource conservation; availability of employee education programs; use of recycled-content supplies for the workplace; and responsible management of electronic waste.
