CORNELIUS, N.C., Oct. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- TempoQuest, Inc. announced today that the company has completed a $1.0 million Series A funding round. The investors in this initial round include NVIDIA GPU Ventures; company founders, Edward "Ed" Keible, Gene Pache and Victor Schnee; and distinguished angel investors Robert "Bob" Pavey, Harvey Jones, and Al Boschulte.
Mr. Pavey is a prestigious venture capitalist having been a Managing Partner of Morgenthaler Ventures and President of the Venture Capital Investors Association. Mr. Pavey is currently the Founder and Managing Director of Pavey Investments.
Mr. Jones is the managing partner of Square Wave Ventures, a private investment firm and has been an entrepreneur, high technology executive and active venture investor for over 30 years. After a distinguished executive management career that included co-founding Daisy Systems and building and taking Synopsys public as its CEO, Mr. Jones immersed himself in early stage technology projects as a private venture investor. In addition to TempoQuest, he presently sits on the boards of Tintri and NVIDIA.
Mr. Boschulte is the former Chairman, CEO of NYNEX Mobile (now part of Verizon Wireless). Mr. Boschulte has 30+ years experience in IT and telecom and has been both CEO and/or director of numerous private and public technology companies.
Mr. Keible who is Executive Chairman, Founder and CEO of TempoQuest was previously the Founder and CEO of Endwave Corp., an RF semi-conductor company he took public in 2000. Mr. Keible stated, "the closing of the Series A funding round is an important milestone in TempoQuest's development and will propel the company to the next level of commercial product introduction."
TempoQuest, Inc. was founded in July 2014. The company is focused on developing weather forecasting tools to greatly accelerate and more precisely predict weather systems, using GPU-based high performance computers. TempoQuest's software is designed to be deployed on NVIDIA's GPU accelerators. It is expected to accelerate weather forecast processing by a factor of ten and improve precision by a factor of three, greatly increasing the usefulness of the forecasts for multiple weather impacted industries like transportation and energy.
