Tempest Launches Digital Membership Program for Modern Recovery
Three yearly plans offering personalized care, community and evidence-based treatment
NEW YORK, June 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Tempest, an integrated, evidence-based digital recovery program, is launching an expanded membership model to revolutionize the care model for individuals on the spectrum of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Historically in America, it takes someone an average of 10 years to get sober. Tempest launched in 2019 to shorten the window and help the 51 million people struggling with AUD, regardless of where they are in their recovery journey.
"Since launching as Tempest, we've collected a lot of important feedback on what our community needs from a digital recovery solution. People need to be able to join at any time; they need shorter, more intensive periods of immersion, at various price points, and they need something that is ongoing," said Holly Whitaker, CEO of Tempest. "We've addressed all of these needs with our evolved membership model, and through this work, I am so proud that we'll be able to provide even more personalized care for folks on the spectrum of AUD."
Tempest is proven to reduce the severity of symptoms of AUD, anxiety and depression. In a study done in partnership with the University of Buffalo and Syracuse University, Tempest's program is shown to reduce the symptoms of AUD by 50% as well as a 25% reduction in the severity of anxiety and depression symptoms.
Tempest exists for anyone who wants to stop drinking, feel better, and stay sober— no matter where they are on their recovery journey. Used on its own, or as a supplement to other recovery programs, Tempest's new model offers three yearly membership plans for members to take control of their recovery journey and determine what's most suitable for them. Through each plan, Tempest helps members uncover the root of why they are drinking and what their individual barriers are to stopping. The program incorporates behavioral therapy, positive psychology, mindfulness and meditation, trauma-informed care, and an always-on community of professionals, including Peer Coaches, Accountability Coaches, Subject Matter Experts, and Clinical Advisors, as well as peers for constant support.
With Tempest's new spectrum of care, members can choose from community-based learning, daily content paired with group meetings, or clinically-proven intensive support:
- Community ($149/year): This plan is meant to help folks connect with others in recovery who know what they're going through, with an always-on private online community and live support meetings.
- Daily ($400/year): Ideal for those who are already sober and want to enrich their life, or alternatively, for those looking to explore an alcohol-free lifestyle. Guided by certified Peer Coaches, the plan includes all of the Community benefits, along with a personalized recovery roadmap, daily affirmational emails, weekly meetings and group support, monthly courses, and live workshops and Q&As.
- Complete ($850/year): The most comprehensive plan, Complete is built to help people quit drinking and develop new healthy habits and coping skills. This clinically-proven plan includes a 4-week intensive course covering the science behind addiction and the kinds of recovery modalities that can help. Complete includes all of the benefits and expert guidance of the Daily plan, plus daily email lessons, weekly lectures, weekly live workshops and Q&As, and weekly meetings and group support.
Starting today, members can sign up for Tempest's yearly membership plans here. The Complete program will officially begin on July 2nd.
