In the most emotionally gripping episode of the series to date, players will again see how the choices they made in previous episodes have affected their version of the tailored story experience set in the morally gray world of an undead apocalypse.
The Walking Dead has received critical praise since its debut in April, with Episode One winning Editor's Choice awards from outlets such as IGN.com, PC Gamer and Official Xbox Magazine, as well as a Golden Joystick nomination. The New York Times has praised the game's emphasis on emotion, drama, and narrative, saying of Episode One, "…moments have more sadness and subtlety in them than other games muster in 40 hours."
Episode Two of the series, "Starved for Help", winner of GameSpy's Best Adventure Game award at E3 2012 will be available for download this week from the App Store for iPhone4, 4S, iPad 2 and the new iPad.
In their review of Episode Three, IGN.com awarded The Walking Dead with an Editor's Choice award and a score of 9 out of 10, saying, "Just like I watch Rick Grimes evolve every month in The Walking Dead comics, I get to see myself evolve through the lens of Lee Everett with each episode of The Walking Dead: The Game," adding, "Each episode makes me care more and more about these characters, so the events of Long Road Ahead make it the most impactful episode to date."
The Walking Dead is set in the world of Robert Kirkman's award-winning comic book series. Players will experience life changing events, meeting new characters as well as some familiar to fans of the comic book series in events that foreshadow the story of Deputy Sherriff Rick Grimes. The Walking Dead offers a tailored game experience - player actions, choices, and decisions affect how the story plays out across the entire series.
The Walking Dead: Episode Three - Long Road Ahead is the third in a series of five episodes. Each episode is available for $4.99 per episode or as a $19.99 season pass on PlayStation®Network; for 400 Microsoft®Points per episode on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360, and as a $24.99 five-episode season pass for PC and Mac from the Telltale Online Store and other digital outlets. The series is also available for iOS devices via the App Store as Walking Dead: The Game, for $4.99 per episode.
