New network POPs in Texas, Indianapolis and Philadelphia expand company's IP MPLS network, supporting enterprise companies with hosted VoIP and data services
PHOENIX, Sept. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Telesphere, one of the leading Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) companies in America, is in the midst of an aggressive, multi-year expansion of its private, all-IP MPLS network aimed at strengthening its reach to serve enterprise customers. The expansion includes adding network Points of Presence (POPs) in Texas, Indianapolis and Philadelphia.

The new POPs expand Telesphere's extensive network of POPs located in major commercial regions across the U.S. The network represents a continued expansion of the Telesphere network that is already the largest in its industry and allows customers tremendous redundancy, security, and high quality voice and data connectivity and a very competitive price.
The POPs contain routing and switching equipment that enables a wide variety of network communications services. Customer locations are connected to the POPs using a variety of access technologies, including high-bandwidth Ethernet over fiber, Ethernet over copper (EOC), DS3, NxT1, DSL, cable and traditional TDM technology. The systems are connected with high bandwidth backhaul connections and form a robust, secure and highly available IP MPLS backbone network.
Telesphere specializes in providing leading-edge cloud-based Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) over a dedicated network that creates control of the quality of the voice and data services and allows customers the ability to receive the full array of Unified Communications services and features without having to purchase a PBX and other hardware associated with traditional communications systems purchased from telephone companies, equipment vendors or ISPs.
"Clearly our strength is our ability to provide unparalleled Unified Cloud Communications solutions over a national network with its breadth and capabilities, supported by our own proprietary back-office systems that has been designed specifically to serve large nationwide companies wanting the very best in Cloud Communications," said Telesphere CEO Clark Peterson. "By the end of 2013, the largest network in our industry becomes even larger and Telesphere will have 16 POPs, covering all regions of the country offering more capabilities than any other provider focused on all-IP, cloud-based business communications services."
With the tremendous growth we have experienced over the past 5 years, recognized by Inc. 500/5000, Peterson stated, "We are continuing to invest in our network to ensure superior service to our customers and to attract larger enterprise accounts. Telesphere's cloud network is private, fully managed and offers a proprietary back-office system that differentiates it from traditional carriers."
Peterson adds, "National trends among businesses signal a preference for the 'services-in-a-cloud' environment that is Telesphere's strength. Unified Communications are very attractive from the perspective of initial capital expense and ongoing operating expense. Because of the complexity entailed in building, managing and maintaining on-premises systems in-house or in private clouds, more and more enterprise companies – with anywhere from 10 to 1,000 employees -- are choosing to rely on companies like Telesphere for a complete solution."
Unified Communications from Telesphere offers businesses an experience far richer than voice alone by integrating services such as hosted VoIP, SMS, instant messaging, presence, video conferencing, Web collaboration and data sharing, with traditional services such as long distance, audio conferencing, voicemail, email and fax. Telesphere also offers fully-managed and hosted advanced call center and contact center capabilities.
Telesphere has been nationally recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in telecommunications by the Inc. 500/5000 list three years in a row. It recently developed two new "super hubs," that provide even more services for multi-site enterprise systems.
