Telefonica Argentina Selects Amdocs Integrated Products and Services for Wireline Transformation Project
Next phase in Telefonica's strategy to offer a seamless customer experience across all touch points and lines of business; follows delivery of successful Amdocs-enabled wireless transformation
ST. LOUIS, April 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Amdocs (NASDAQ: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems and services, today announced that Telefonica Argentina, the leading multi-play service provider in the country serving 27 million wireless, wireline and high-speed Internet customers, has selected Amdocs to transform its wireline business support systems (BSS) operations. With this transformation project, Telefonica Argentina aims to differentiate its brand experience by allowing its wireline subscribers to move seamlessly between all customer interaction channels, whether self-service or agent assisted, via the Web, call center or at the retail store.
Telefonica elected to modernize and standardize its BSS operations in Argentina on Amdocs software, starting with the transformation of its wireless operations awarded to Amdocs in 2012, and is now expanding the partnership to include its wireline operations. Amdocs will deliver pre-integrated products from its CES portfolio, including sales, provisioning, billing, customer management, self-service and enterprise-wide product management. With complete project accountability Amdocs will deliver implementation, systems integration, testing and training services to support the rollout, as well as ongoing product support.
"The transformation of our wireline operations is the next phase in our strategy to become the leading operator to offer all customer interactions online and ensure a consistent customer experience across all lines of business," said Horacio Goldenberg, chief information officer at Telefonica Argentina. "The value we are already seeing from our wireless transformation proves we were right to choose Amdocs as our strategic partner, and is the reason we are selecting them again as we continue this journey."
"By assuming responsibility for the wireless and now wireline transformations, delivering both products and services to support the rollout, we're putting the full breadth of our expertise to work for Telefonica," said Patrick McGrory, president for the Caribbean and Latin America region at Amdocs. "This approach will help reduce the complexity and risks normally associated with large transformation projects, and ensure maximum operational efficiencies and total cost of ownership benefits for Telefonica."
The transformation of Telefonica Argentina's wireless operations in Argentina took 12 months and went live last November. Telefonica was able to replace disparate systems with one Amdocs system providing integrated capabilities, enabling the introduction of a number of new and innovative services.
