Telecom Veteran Mike Padula Jr. Joins Highwinds as Senior Vice President of Global Sales
Padula Builds on 18 Years of Industry Experience to Drive Global Sales
WINTER PARK, Fla., June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Highwinds®, a leader in content delivery, network and cloud-based IP services, today announced that Mike Padula Jr. has joined the company as senior vice president of global sales, Content Delivery and Network Services. Padula has nearly two decades of senior management experience in the technology space, and a proven track record in sales and channel development for some of the world's most recognized telecoms. He will be instrumental in driving global sales growth for Highwinds' portfolio of solutions for CDN, network and cloud-based IP services.
"Mike Padula is a welcome addition to our fast-paced and successful executive team," said Steve Liddell, president of Content Delivery and Network Services for Highwinds. "Mike exemplifies all the attributes we need to build great relationships with our customers and to continue to grow our sales team. He's an accomplished visionary leader and is passionate about what we do, making him the ideal choice for our next stage of growth."
Padula came to Highwinds from Atlantix Global Systems where he held the position of senior vice president of global sales, responsible for the end user worldwide sales organization, profit and loss, and strategic initiatives for the company's enterprise-class networking hardware, telecom equipment and IT services. Prior to Atlantix, Padula spent ten years at Level 3 Communications, where he held a number of senior management positions within the sales organization including senior vice president, Business Markets Group, and vice president, Wholesale Markets Group. Ultimately, after assuming executive leadership for Level 3, Padula was instrumental in growing the company's private and public sector customer base by recruiting and directing the field sales team, designing an efficient ecosystem team, rebuilding the channel program, and managing the full P&L for sales. Earlier in his career, Padula held various sales positions at AT&T and BellSouth.
"Highwinds has built a strong reputation for the delivery of CDN, network and cloud-based IP services, and the name has become synonymous with innovation, growth and profitability. Among its strengths are its global network, flexible and scalable solutions, in-house software capabilities, and forward-thinking team. Yet there remains infinite opportunities to be seized and massive growth potential, and I am excited to be joining Highwinds as it stands on this growth threshold," said Padula.
