MANSFIELD, Massachusetts, October 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Companies will showcase a joint NFV-enabled orchestrated service assurance solution for actionable service delivery and improved customer experience at the conference's ETSI NFV PoC Zone
Telco Systems, the leading provider of innovative SDN & NFV, multi-service Carrier Ethernet 2.0 and MPLS edge solutions, today announced that it has been selected to present a joint NFV proof-of-concept solution together with Orange, Cisco, Intel and Netrounds at the ETSI NFV PoC Zone during the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress.

This joint "NFV-Enabled Orchestrated Service Assurance" proof-of-concept from Telco Systems and its ecosystem partners will demonstrate how communications service providers can dramatically improve service delivery, service level agreement (SLA) commitments and overall customer experience by combining model-driven orchestration and virtual test agents (VTAs) to achieve NFV-enabled service fulfillment and service assurance.
This proof-of-concept is supported by Orange and combines Cisco's network services orchestrator enabled by Tail-f, Netrounds' virtual test agents and Telco Systems' CloudMetro virtualization device running on Intel's hardware.
The proof-of-concept demonstration at the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress will show how NFV enables orchestrated service assurance by automating tasks associated with service fulfilment and service assurance. The proof-of-concept demonstration will leverage distributed x86 computing resources as hosts for virtual test agents that perform service activation testing and active network monitoring. This will ensure that services are delivered to customers correctly the first time and to provide constant measurements of individual services as well as network KPIs and QoS levels. Telco Systems' CloudMetro device will enable the active monitoring and testing to reach the customer site remotely and provide a higher resolution of network connectivity and running services as well as deliver actionable intelligence for problem resolution.
"Programmable networks are the future of the telecommunications industry and we are excited to be collaborating with the leading industry players for this important proof-of-concept demonstration," said Fredrik Lundberg, Director of Strategy and Planning at Cisco. "Not only is Telco Systems making service virtualization a reality, but its standardized programmable NETCONF interface makes it extremely easy to program."
This proof-of-concept demonstration will also highlight the drawbacks of existing practices used by communications service providers, which rely on separate procedures for network configuration, service activation testing, monitoring and orchestration. Current practices are based on expensive test equipment and probes and service assurance systems that use device-centric counters, traps and statistics. This, in combination with an out-of-date inventory, produces poorly correlated estimations of accurate end-user quality, which exposes a communications service provider to elevated operational costs and the risk of customer frustration and churn.
"We have invested significant resources to bring to market a full range of SDN and NFV technologies and solutions to help telcos and other communications service providers to improve the performance of their service delivery and offer new value added services," said Gal Ofel, Head of Software Solutions at Telco Systems. "We are proud to have been selected to demonstrate the strengths of our innovative SDN and NFV offerings in an ecosystem together with our industry leading partners at this prominent global event."
The ETSI NFV PoC Zone will take place during the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress in Dusseldorf, Germany on October 12-16.
