Tektronix Communications Awarded Multi-Million Dollar Contract With Tier 1 European Operator for LTE Troubleshooting
Tektronix Communications' NSA Solution Selected to Accelerate Operator LTE Network Roll Out
PLANO, Texas, March 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix Communications, a leading worldwide provider of communications test and Network Intelligence solutions, announced that the company has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract with a multi-country European tier 1 operator for testing and monitoring projects in their main European test labs. The operator selected the company's Network and Service Analyzer (NSA) solution after performing rigorous evaluations to confirm the reliability of the LTE test platform and to help accelerate the operator's LTE rollout plans by greatly reducing the time for LTE compliance and network and handset troubleshooting.
Tektronix Communications NSA solution utilizing K18 probes and the K2Air Uu probe is able to offer the industry's only solution that provides full visibility of end-to-end network performance for all wired and wireless interfaces. "This visionary operator needed a trusted partner to help test the LTE network elements before the official commercial launch and ensure the reliability of an ongoing LTE network testing platform," said Richard Kenedi, Vice President Test and Optimization, Tektronix Communications. "We are pleased to be able to provide solutions that offer deep end-to-end visibility and ongoing testing and monitoring, allowing their LTE network to be market-ready and sustainable."
The tier 1 operator will use Tektronix Communications' NSA solution in their test labs in different countries. The comprehensive wireline analysis capabilities together with the complete Uu visibility of the NSA, provides a unique fully correlated user plane and control plane view into the Evolved Packet System. The NSA multi-user platform allows also increased efficiency and productivity of the teams for better return on investment.
About the NSA
NSA is a suite of advanced analytical software applications for troubleshooting and optimization of mobile networks and services. NSA allows users to trace subscribers' control and user plane data both in real time and offline as they travel across the network over multiple interfaces and over several network elements. Identification of network problems and service quality degradation (from the symptom down to the root cause) becomes tremendously fast and easy. The capabilities and benefits of the NSA can be realized across LTE, UMTS (including HSPA), WiMAX and 2.5G/2G networks. As a result, the time required to obtain and analyze data from across wireless mobile networks and in testbed environments is greatly reduced, and carriers and vendors alike can realize improved network testing efficiency.
