BEAVERTON, Ore., Jan. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced today that Cerify, the world's first fully automated system capable of verifying the quality of file-based, compressed digital video and audio content prior to transmission, has received the 2014 Salute Award at the Government Video Expo in Washington, D.C.
In its 12th year, the Salute Award recognizes the best products in the government video category, which spans the widest ground of any category of video, from surveillance to full-blown production and distribution. The Salute Award winners are those deemed by Government Video magazine staff as providing a smarter, faster, better way for government video operators to get their jobs done, which saves money and delivers value to taxpayers. In all, eleven products were selected for the Salute Award this year, out of the many products featured at the Government Video Expo.
"We judged these products to be interesting, innovative and especially worth consideration by government video operations," said Bob Kovacs, editor at Government Video magazine. "The products we selected for this year's Salute Award impressed us with their value, technology and innovation."
"We are honored that Cerify has received the 2014 Salute Award,'" said Eben Jenkins, general manager, Video Product Line, Tektronix. "Cerify is one of a new generation of Tektronix video test and monitoring tools to ensure that video and audio content will reach the consumer without technical faults. It is an ideal tool to ensure higher levels of end-customer viewing satisfaction for the video explosion in today's new digital world."
About Cerify
Manual inspection of video and audio content is often prone to error. Cerify is the world's first fully automated system capable of verifying the quality of file-based, compressed digital video and audio content prior to transmission or use. It is the only product that fully tests all aspects to ensure that it meets system parameters, formats, resolutions, bit-rates, video/audio quality levels, metadata and compliance/correctness to a wide range of specified video and audio standards. Cerify can automatically check all of these, providing a repeatable, objective and cost-effective testing methodology.
Cerify is applicable not only to traditional broadcasters and network operators but also to content providers including movie, TV, video and streaming media companies, for post-production checking of encoding, and to video archives providing an easy way to analyze and check the integrity of the content of the digital video archives.
