Tekne Home: Design your own Sofa in the Next Billion-dollar e-Commerce Trend
STOCKHOLM, May 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
IKEA, founded in 1943, has dominated the furniture and furnishings industry for the past few decades. However, it is soon to be challenged by fellow Swedish company Tekne Home, which proposes a radical approach to e-commerce.

Tekne Home, founded by the well-known, 69-years-young Swedish entrepreneur Claes Persson, offers consumers a whole new way of shopping: purchasing directly from the factory. Not only does this mean that prices will be much lower than those of any shop-bought items, but it also opens up a world of choice for the consumer who is used to browsing a collection of just a few dozen sofas in a store.
At less than half the retail price of similar shop-bought items, Tekne Home customers are given the freedom to design their own sofas with a wide range of materials, to be built in one of several factories, and have their furniture delivered to their homes for free.
Sure to be the next billion-dollar e-commerce trend, Tekne Home's new "Smart Shopping System" will be introduced in Sweden first, with worldwide expansion to follow shortly. It is also genuinely eco-friendly.
