Tegile bested 14 competing finalists' products, including Avere Systems, Nimble Storage and Tintri, in the enterprise storage system category. Others included Fibre Channel and iSCSI SANs, network attached storage, multiprotocol systems, direct-attached storage, hard disk drives, solid-state storage, disk controllers, caching appliances, storage virtualization appliances and cloud storage gateway appliances. Products were judged by a panel of users, analysts, consultants, and Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com editors. Products were rated based on innovation, performance, ease of integration into environment, ease of use and manageability, functionality and value.
Judges gave the Zebi HA 2800 high marks for innovation and value, with one judge calling the system, "One of the more complete hybrid unified storage products – full storage array functionality and excellent performance at a reasonable price." Another judge noted that the HA 2800's "inline dedupe and hybrid disk, and snapshot and replication make for a comprehensive feature set."
"We are very pleased to be recognized with the Gold designation in the most competitive category of this year's Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com's Product of the Year awards," said Rob Commins, vice president of marketing, Tegile Systems. "Our arrays uniquely address the major issues that enterprises face today including protocol flexibility, latency, IO storms and the major challenge of maintaining a rational cost structure. This goal was validated by the panel of judges in this year's Product of the Year competition who understood the importance of innovation and value combined in a complete storage solution."
