TECNA Announces Selection of Bob Moore as Executive Director

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., July 2, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Technology Councils of North America (TECNA), an amalgamation of information technology (IT) industry trade organizations representing more than 16,000 technology-related companies across North America, today announced the hiring of Bob Moore as its first executive director.

Moore, a Certified Association Executive with 15 years of association management experience, is responsible for the day-to-day management of TECNA, as well as planning for programs and projects that will further its development and growth.

"Bob will work closely with TECNA's executive committee, boards and councils as we address the issues affecting the IT industry," said Tino Mantella, president of TECNA and chief executive officer of the Technology Association of Georgia.

"With the active support and involvement of TECNA members and partners, we intend to strengthen our advocacy on behalf of tech entrepreneurs and business owners to assure that their voices are heard and their economic and innovation contributions are recognized," said Moore.

Prior to joining TECNA, Moore served as vice president for the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), an 18,000-member association. He also worked with a variety of associations, including technology user groups, as associate director of education at SmithBucklin, the world's largest association management company. He also served as director of community-based initiatives at the American Academy of Pediatrics, a 60,000-member professional society.

Moore received a B.S. degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Illinois State University and an M.A. degree in Organizational Communications from the University of Northern Iowa.
