DENVER, June 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Aventura, the leading provider of situational awareness technology for the healthcare industry, today announced the appointment of technology innovator Patrick Flynn as Chief Operating Officer. Flynn brings more than 30 years of experience leading and transforming global technology and operations organizations to Aventura including his most recent role as Chief Technology Officer for Phytel, the leader in population health management. In 2015, Phytel was acquired by IBM as part of the Watson Health line of business.
Before Phytel, Flynn founded and led Clear IT Leadership, a boutique IT consultancy focused on dramatically changing the impact of organizations' technology investments. Flynn also served as Senior Vice President of Technology and Chief Technology Officer for Getty Images, as well as Vice President and Chief Information officer at PACCAR, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University in business administration.
"Technology holds the key to improved patient outcomes, reduced costs, and the successful shift to a value-based payment environment. Unfortunately, for many clinicians the journey has become laborious and time-consuming as they grapple with logging in and out of systems and the security issues, delays in patient care, and frustration that comes with it," said John Gobron, CEO, Aventura. "Situational awareness is a game changer in healthcare because it contextually integrates the EMR with health intelligence applications at the point-of-care to provide clinicians with the most pertinent patient records without the need to hunt and peck through census or scan each open chart. I look forward to Patrick joining the company and leveraging his tremendous track record as we continue to grow and bring to market innovative solutions that will transform clinical workflow."
