Technology Executive and Strategic Consultant Mary Jeffries Joins Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota Board
MINNEAPOLIS and ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota today announced the appointment of Mary Jeffries to its board of directors. A former CEO of Polaroid Corporation, Jeffries has more than three decades of experience in executive level corporate positions, accounting, finance and strategic consulting.
"Mary will be an excellent addition to our board of directors, particularly as the health care industry continues to evolve," said Alan L. Goldbloom, MD, president and CEO of Children's of Minnesota. "Children's has earned a reputation for delivering extremely efficient, high quality care. Mary's expertise will help us continue to be a leader in Minnesota and across the country."
Jeffries is a principal with Acuity Strategic Consulting, helping companies develop more efficient and profitable business practices, and is also an Executive Board member of Zink Imaging, a Boston-based technology company. She brings a diverse range of experiences and skills to the board, and she says she's excited to promote Children's continued growth and success.
"I've always been an admirer of Children's but when I toured their facilities I was amazed at the innovation that has been incorporated into everything they do," said Jeffries. "The mission of the hospital, and the benevolence of the patient care they provide, make Children's an easy organization to get excited about. I'm very happy to be a part of it."
Jeffries says when she was considering joining the board, she was struck by the many stories she was told by friends and colleagues who have their own Children's experiences.
"It is such a well-known and well-regarded institution," said Jeffries. "You don't have to look too hard in Minnesota to find people who have been cared for at Children's."
In addition to serving on the Children's board, Jeffries was on the Board of Directors for Famous Dave's of America and has been active in many non-profit and for-profit company boards as well as an active member of the World Presidents Organization. She lives in Eden Prairie with her husband and has two children.
