The U.S. equity market rose sharply for a second successive trading session on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. All three benchmark indexes rose as disappointing first quarter GDP data raised hopes that the Federal Reserve will not start to wind down its $85 billion a month bond buying program in the near future. The U.S. GDP grew 1.80% in the first quarter which is below the preliminary estimate of 2.40% growth. The S&P 500 rose 0.96% on Wednesday. All sectors in the S&P 500 closed higher. The services companies also ended mostly higher, with the major movers in the sector including The Home Depot Inc. (NYSE: HD), US Airways Group Inc. (NYSE: LCC), The Wendy's Co. Shares in The Home Depot Inc. rose sharply on Wednesday, extending their gains for the week. The company's shares ended the day 2.06% higher at $75.67 after oscillating between $74.58 and $75.87.
