TechNet CEO and President Rey Ramsey Testifies on Impact of the App Economy
WASHINGTON, Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rey Ramsey, President and CEO of TechNet, the bipartisan policy and political network of CEOs that promotes the growth of the innovation economy, testified today in front of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade on the economic impact of the developing app economy.
Ramsey's testimony explored the breathtakingly fast adoption of smart phones and other mobile devices in the United States that have helped drive the creation of the app economy and mobile developers' contribution to job creation.
TechNet recently sponsored a study that was conducted by Dr. Michael Mandel of South Mountain Economics LLC, which found that roughly 466,000 jobs in the "App Economy" in the United States, up from zero in 2007.
