VANCOUVER, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ - Dave King, Techneos' CEO will be co-presenting with Nielsen at the ESOMAR Congress in Athens on September 15th.
The session, entitled "3 Screen Measurement: Soccer World Cup 2010" will share a new research approach used to measure the effects of the 2010 FIFA World Cup(TM) via three multi-media screens. TV and online consumption levels were measured using Television Audience Measurement panels (TAM), site census, and market intelligence meters on PCs. Nielsen's Life360 digital ethnography program conducted a mobile diary study to understand how people engaged with the World Cup.
This was a very ambitious project with 420 participants completing 5 surveys per day in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban, in English, Afrikaans, Tswana and Zulu as their tournament experiences unfolded, no matter where they were. More than 54,000 photos and 61,000 data records were collected, and compliance rates of 83% were achieved for the study, that was powered by the SODA(R) mobile platform.
