TechAmerica Foundation's Commission on the Convergence of Technology Underway
More than 25 Companies to Provide Industry Recommendations to Government on How Convergence Can Improve Efficiency, Services and Capabilities
WASHINGTON, Sept. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The TechAmerica Foundation in collaboration with more than 25 companies and organizations formed a Technology Convergence Commission to proactively provide recommendations to the U.S. federal government on the convergence of social, mobile, analytics, and cloud (SMAC) and its ability to improve efficiency, services and capabilities while driving innovation and the economy.
This industry initiated effort is co-chaired by David Zolet, executive vice president and general manager of Computer Sciences Corporation North American Public Sector, and Kay Kapoor, president of A&T Government Solutions. It also includes vice-chairs from General Dynamics IT, Grant Thornton, Hewlett Packard and TASC.
The commission will be staffed by representatives from the following: Acentia; Autonomic Resources; CACI; Capgemini; Citrix; Data Networks Corp.; Deloitte; Gemalto; envisionIT; Hank Steininger PLLC; IMC; International Holding Co.; LexisNexis Risk Solutions; Lockheed Martin; Logi Analytics; MarkLogic; MAXIMUS; NetApp; Red Hat; Rutgers University's Center for Dynamic Data Analytics; STG; and Xerox.
The Commission starts its work on September 5 with a kick-off meeting in Washington, D.C., and an update from the Office of Science and Technology Policy about technology innovation in the Administration.
